Who is architect-hammer?
Architects are the one finding a solution to business problem. They choose various toolings to deliver the most efficient solution.
Limiting their toolings directly influences on the quality of the solution.
Sometimes I meet companies searching for a special architect.
They haven’t had architects before but they are 100% sure they need migration to microservices.
Saying something against this approach means you’re «very bad architect» 😜
They need an architect who uses only a hammer for all their work.
An architect-hammer doesn’t need wide knowledge, holistic view and pragmatic approach.
Basically a senior Dev can work efficiently on this role since only a depth in one field (how to use a hammer) is required.
At some moment these companies always realise a vase made with hammer is not quite nice but this is another story.
